Performance Comparison
Between CIJ Type Inkjet Printer And DOD Type Inkjet Printer

 

According to the working theory of inkject printer, there are mainly two categories

1) The CIJ Type type inkjet printer is called continue ink jet printer type ( CIJ type for short) Its working theory is that the inks are ejected continuously from a single spray head and form ink dots after crystal oscillating. The dots are to be scanned to characters on the surface of moving object after electrification and high voltag deflection.

2) Drop on demand type inkjet printer. ( DOD type for short)
Its working theory is that the sprayhead is composed of lots of high-precision valves and the valves corresponding to the fonts will open or close timely when printing. The inks will be ejected depending on the internal constant pressure, which will form characters or pictures on the surface of moving objects.

Ink Darkness The ink darkness isn’t consistent because inks are recyclable during operation The ink darkness is consistent because inks are not recyclable during operation.
Operating Cost Need to add dilution. It’s a waste due to the continuous volatilization. No need to add dilution. Lower operating cost than CIJ
Inking System Dust and moisture might be introduced into the internal machines by the recycling inking system, thus might result in machine failures Inks are not recycled .Good sealing for inking system. No ink pollution.
Failure Rate Ink dots needs to be controlled by high-precison processes such as crystal oscillating, electrification and high voltage deflection. Higher failure rate. Inks are ejected directly with its own pressure,leading to lower failure rate.
User Interface Complicated operating sytem. Need to adjust precise parameters to achieve proper performance Simple & reliable operating system.
Easy Maintenance
Environment Influence Huge amount of organic solvents is volatile during the ink recycling, producing disgusting odor and pollute the environment. Non-recycable inks and use environment friendly inks.No irritating odor.Minimum influence on environment
Gas Source Supply Need to use external gas source or equipped with gear pump. . High demand on the pressure and cleanliness. The quality of gas source directly links to the machine life.。 It’s equipped with pressure system. The pressure for inks are consistant, plus the clean quality, which ensure the normal operation of printer.
Sealing Performance Gear pump type ink jet printer. Need cooling when the motor is running at high speed. Dust and moisture might be introduced into the internal machines because it’s not sealed No high-power device inside the machine. No need for cooling when working. Good sealing system. Not influenced by the environment.
Maintenance Gear pump is easily wear and needs to be replaced regularly. And it cannot be repaired (Only to be replaced).
Higher maintenance cost.
No fragile parts. Relatively lower maintenance cost compared to CIJ type inkjet printer
